How to use them
Spend a session on the topics you missed last time. Untimed topic practice shows the explanation after each question, so the rule is fresh when the timer starts.
Quiet room, no pausing, a permitted calculator only on Math. Mark questions you are unsure of and come back if time allows; the navigator shows what is still blank.
Check accuracy by topic and time per question, then start the weak-area set your results suggest. When sections feel steady, move up to a full-length test.
Sectional test questions
Short, direct answers about this part of the site and the ACT itself.
No. Every sectional test has its own set of questions, so you can take all of them and still meet new questions in the full-length tests.
English is 50 questions in 35 minutes, Math is 45 questions in 50 minutes, Reading is 36 questions in 40 minutes, Science is 40 questions in 40 minutes and Writing is one essay in 40 minutes. Our sectional tests use exactly these lengths and timings.
The section closes with the answers you have saved, just as on test day, and your results open straight away. Your answers are saved as you go, so a closed tab does not lose them, but the clock keeps running.
You get a raw score (questions correct), accuracy by topic and difficulty, time per question and an explanation for every question. Writing essays are scored against the four-domain rubric, by you or by AI feedback. We do not convert raw scores to the 1 to 36 scale.
