Timed sectional practice
45 questions in 50 minutes with four answer choices, as on the enhanced ACT. Work through algebra, functions, geometry, trigonometry and statistics at test pace, with a worked explanation for every problem.
ACT Math is 45 multiple-choice questions in 50 minutes, a little over a minute each, and the enhanced ACT gives every question four answer choices. A permitted calculator is allowed on this section only, but no question requires one. Our topic tags follow the Preparing for Higher Math categories; the official test also reports Integrating Essential Skills and Modeling.
Every test is free to take online, with explanations for all of its ACT Math practice questions.

How to approach it
Write down what the question asks for before you calculate. Many wrong answers are correct values for a different quantity.
When the choices are far apart, a quick estimate rules out two or three. Plug the choices back in when the algebra gets long.
Easier questions tend to come first. Mark anything that stalls you, move on, and come back with whatever time is left.
Warm up with untimed Math topic practice, then take a test here. When sections feel steady, move up to a full-length test.
Math questions
Short, direct answers about this part of the site and the ACT itself.
Yes, on the Math section only, and only a permitted model: no computer algebra systems, phones or QWERTY keyboards. Every question can be solved without one, and students testing online get the Desmos graphing calculator inside the section.
Four. The enhanced ACT reduced Math from five choices to four, matching the other sections. Our questions use four choices throughout.
Number and quantity, algebra, functions, geometry, statistics and probability (the Preparing for Higher Math categories), plus the Integrating Essential Skills and Modeling categories on the official test. Trigonometry appears within geometry.
45 questions in 50 minutes is about 67 seconds each. Aim to finish the first half quickly, since questions generally get harder, and keep a few minutes at the end for anything you marked.
